The combination of prolific dark rosy blooms and dark purple leaves make Shadow Magic crapemyrtle a standout in any warm-climate landscape. While many dark leaf crapemyrtle are riddled with foliar issues, Shadow Magic is incredibly disease resistant, especially to powdery mildew, so the glossy dark leaves remain brilliant spring through fall. Joining the Magic Crapemyrtle collection in First Editions®, which already has Twilight Magic for large spaces, Shadow Magic is a perfect option for smaller spaces. This variety matures into a beautiful upright shrub or small tree. Contrasting beautifully against the dark leaves, the bright pink flowers that cover Shadow Magic are pollinator magnets, and will rebloom if deadheaded. It is also deer resistant so those flowers can be enjoyed by pollinators and consumers without worry. Shadow Magic is also a great retail shrub, as it fills out quickly and is flower heavy in containers.
