Cupressus macrocarpa ‘Mirjam Greencrest’

Mirjam Greencrest’ was discovered as a sport mutation of Cupressus macrocarpa ‘Wilma Goldcrest’ in 2016 in Langley, British Columbia, Canada. Selection was based on foliage colour and rigidity of the stem. Further asexual propagation by stem cutting of ‘Mirjam Greencrest’ occurred in September 2017. Introduced by Westcan Greenhouses Ltd.

PLANT: evergreen, strong fragrance, narrow pyramidal shape, medium to fast rate of growth MAIN. STEM: thick, rounded in cross-section, medium brown (RHS 175A).
BRANCH: erect to semi-erect, medium rigidity, medium density, medium brown (RHS 165A) when aged. BRANCHLETS: sparse to medium density, light brown, absent or very weak intensity of anthocyanin colouration, flat first order branchlets, long second order branchlets.
SPRAY: erect to semi-erect, medium to dark green.
LEAF: imperfectly radial arrangement around branchlet, linear shape, narrow apex, entire margin with involute to flat fold
Zones 7-11 | Size: The mean plant height is 52cm 3.6m (12ft) tall-1.2m (4ft) wide.
