Attendees will review the physical and chemical properties of conventional Pacific Northwest growing media components. Attendees will also be introduced to wood fiber(s) and its impact on physical and chemical properties of the growing media. We will review cultural management considerations (e.g. pH, water management, fertility) when creating and using peat- or bark-based growing media blends to produce annuals, perennials and nursery crops.
