Pesticide Program Specialist, Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation

Sharon Selvaggio has been with Xerces Society’s pesticides program since 2019. She helps people reduce reliance on pesticides and implement pest management solutions that conserve invertebrates and pollinators. Her experience includes 27 years with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the U.S. Forest Service as a national wildlife refuge manager, conservation planner and wildlife biologist. Selvaggio also worked four years for Northwest Center for Alternatives to Pesticides. She earned her master’s degree in energy and resources and bachelor’s in biology, both from the University of California at Berkeley.
