Dr. Jerry Weiland is a researcher at the USDA-ARS Horticultural Crops Disease and Pest Management Research Unit in Corvallis, Oregon, where his laboratory conducts research on diseases of trees and shrubs for the nursery industry. Research is focused on identifying the pathogens that cause disease, understanding how disease outbreaks occur, and developing new or improved disease management strategies. Areas of specialization include Phytophthora root rot, Verticillium wilt and boxwood blight.
