Nicholas Staddon, consultant and plantsman of Staddon Consulting, has been involved in the nursery profession for forty years. He started off working in garden centers in New Mexico, where he says “the vistas will move your heart, and the gardening will break it.” In 1989 he started working for Monrovia and his stint lasted 27 years working in sales and sales management, and for the last 12 or so years of his tenure leading the New Plant program, working with breeders, hybridizers and Plant Explorers in the United States and overseas, as well as taking on the role of company spokesperson. Since 2017 Staddon has operated a successful consulting business, as well as working for Everde Growers as their spokesperson and plantsman.
