Project Description

Ruby Dayze™ Crabapple

Malus ‘JFS KW139MX’ P.A.F.

Introduced by J. Frank Schmidt & Son Co.
Selected by Keith Warren from the crabapple breeding program of J. Frank Schmidt & Son Co.

Ruby Dayze™ Crabapple earns high marks in all of the important performance categories for ornamental crabapples. A profuse crop of bright magenta-pink flowers attracts pollinators and is followed by clean, highly disease resistant purple-red foliage. Leaves mature to bronze-green in late summer and presents orange-red in autumn. Tiny, deep red fruit persists into winter. Growers and landscape managers appreciate its disease resistance and low-maintenance, upright, tightly oval form.

Available as 6-foot branched to 1-inch branched bare root, #10–#25 containers and 1¾-inch caliper containers from J. Frank Schmidt & Son Co. (Booth 19026)
