This showy, evergreen to semi-evergreen flowering shrub forms low, compact mounds of dark, glossy green foliage. Each large oval leaf is deeply veined lengthwise, with three curved lines. Round clusters of tiny white flowers appear April through May, attracting butterflies and other pollinators. In late summer to autumn, metallic blue berries born on reddish stems appear in abundance. A dependable grower in full sun to part shade. Excellent as a hedge, border or as a foundation plant.
