Strongbox® Inkberry Holly

Ilex glabra ‘Ilexfarrowtracey’ USPPAF, CPBRAF

Bred by Mike Farrow in Maryland and introduced by Spring Meadow Nursery and Proven Winners.

With its squat, rounded habit, handsome evergreen foliage, and full, dense branching, this is a welcome alternative to boxwood. Lush, deep green, and disease resistant, this plant offers huge
potential for the landscape market and homeowners alike. Native to North America and highly adaptable, this can be planted in sun or partial shade. It stays green and well-branched right to
the ground. It can be used in hedges, container gardens and mass plantings. Strongbox® is disease resistant with a dense, rounded habit, and prefers moist acidic soils. Pruning is seldom needed but may be shaped in late winter. Hardy down to -20 F (-28 C). Zones 5-9.

Available as 1–3 gallon containers from Proven Winners (Booth 3049).
