Hydrangea serrata ‘SMNHSDD’ USPPAF, CPBRAF

Bred by Tim Wood at Spring Meadow Nursery in Grand Haven, Michigan and introduced by Spring Meadow Nursery and Proven Winners.

This newest member of the Tuff Stuff series has massive, dinner-plate-sized blooms. It stood out notably in our field and container trials for its outstanding reblooming ability. Its sterile florets are doubled and waterlily-like, taking an outstanding pink or blue coloration depending on soil conditions. Like all Hydrangea serrata cultivars, it has exceptional bud hardiness. It can be used in hedges and specimen or foundation plantings. Features enormous pink or blue flowers with strong rebloom. Prefers cool, moist, and well-drained soil. Avoid pruning except to remove any old or dead growth. Hardy to Zones 5–9.
