The USDA now has $200 million per year for REAP Grants, which can cover up to 50% of the cost for a solar system and many energy efficiency technologies. When added to a 40% Tax Credit and utility company incentives, 90% or more of the cost can be recovered in the first year. Energy costs are rising rapidly as the utility companies decarbonize operations, so producing your own energy can greatly reduce operating costs and increase independence.
