Discovered by Gurjit Sidhu at Briggs Nursery in Porter, Washington, and introduced by Briggs Nursery.

Hakbri1 is the airiest Japanese Forest Grasses available! It has tri-color variegation of chartreuse, lemon, and cream, and adds spectacular color and texture to lower light areas. It waves and rustles in the wind, and adds a soft, flowing feel. No other Hakonechloa displays this array of variegation and lightness of texture. Reaches 12–14 inches tall by 18–24 inches wide. Zones 5–9.
