‘Crystalline’ features breathtaking black foliage with unique maroon veins and pure white flower clusters in mid-summer into fall. A huge improvement over other white-flowered/dark-leaved forms, ‘Crystalline’ drops its blooms before they fade, so the plants never have the “dirty” look those previous selections offered. Very compact form with strong upright branching, able to grow as much as 12’ tall by 6’ wide if not sheared, or will perform beautifully with annual shearing to make a gorgeous 3’ by 3’ shrub. The wood is cold hardy to Zone 7 and can make a striking herbaceous perennial in Zones 5–6 since they will bloom on new wood every year.
