America’s Sweetheart Hollywood Hibiscus

Bred by Jim Berry in collaboration with Texas A & M University, in Grand Saline, TX and introduced by J Berry Nursery

Hollywood Hibiscus is the result of 15 years of intensive breeding by Jim Berry to develop several significant improvements over the species and other introduced cultivars. They are naturally self-branching, providing dense, more uniform, well-formed bushes at a young age, with strong disease, insect, and disease tolerance. The best feature of the Hollywood Hibiscus though is that they do not cycle out of flower like the species and all other introductions do. America’s Sweetheart is an exciting new intro with gorgeous pink flowers and a prominent white picotee edge. Another huge improvement over the species is that her flowers will persist for multiple days, instead of dropping after one day.
