Seaside Serenade® Cape Lookout Hydrangea

Hydrangea macrophylla ‘HORTMABLO’ PPAF

Bred by Peter Kolster, The Netherlands, and introduced by Monrovia.

Seaside Serenade® has dark-green foliage accented with huge blooms that start green, turn pure white, and finally develop a light-pink tinge as they age. The mature blooms are two handfuls, measuring 12 inches across! What’s truly amazing is how long the flowers last in the garden, or as a cut flower. As a tetraploid, this plant is stronger and tougher, with thick stems and strong, deeply colored, leathery foliage and long-lasting blooms. This hydrangea has reliable rebloom, flowering spring through summer, followed by dramatic dark-bronze fall foliage color. It makes a statement in the garden or as entryway accent in a container. Quickly reaches 3½ feet tall and 3 feet wide. Prefers part sun/part shade. Resists scorch and burn even on hot summer days. Hardy to Zones 4–9.

Available as #2 and #5 containers from Monrovia (Booth 17037).
