DESCRIPTION:Speakers:\nMax Ragozzino\, Ph.D.\, Biological Control Entomologist for the ODA Insect Pest Prevention and Management Program\nKara Mills\, Ph.D.\, Lead Horticulturist for the ODA Nursery and Christmas Tree Program\nKat Bethea\, EAB Support Specialists in the Urban and Community Forestry Program at ODF (Oregon Department of Forestry)\nMatt Mills\, EAB Support Specialists in the Urban and Community Forestry Program at ODF (Oregon Department of Forestry) \nFREE inside Trade Show.\nThis is a joint session with ODA and ODF. The ODA’s Insect Pest Prevention and Management Program will present on current research being conducted to address Oregon’s emerald ash borer (EAB) infestation. The ODA’s Nursery Program would review regulations regarding movement of host plants; how to obtain a compliance agreement so that nurseries can ship; and which states have restrictions for hosts coming from EAB quarantined areas. The ODF’s EAB Support Specialists will present an update on the EAB infestations in Washington\, Yamhill\, Marion\, and Clackamas counties; share the new website and resources that track the infestation; and provide management options for ash trees.

The measure requires agricultural employers to pay certain workers for overtime hours worked and creates a refundable income or corporate tax credit for employers. BOLI and DOR have teamed together to educate and provide resources for agriculture employers. DOR will provide information and tips for employers that may qualify for the Agricultural Employer Overtime Tax Credit. BOLI will help educate employers and workers about how overtime and minimum wage hours laws impact the agriculture sector. The agencies will be available to help answer questions and discuss any concern.

When added to a 40% Tax Credit and utility company incentives\, 90% or more of the cost can be recovered in the first year. Energy costs are rising rapidly as the utility companies decarbonize operations\, so producing your own energy can greatly reduce operating costs and increase independence.
