It's only fitting that the biggest show in the West is located right in the heart of the nation's renowned growing region. Join fellow industry colleagues and spend the day on a fun-filled tour highlighting several of Oregon's top retail garden centers or choose from two different nursery tours that head out to explore Oregon's finest green-industry wholesale operations showcasing the vast array of plants and products you can find here in nursery country.

Tour 1 — Out West (Sold Out)

Head "Out West" of Portland to visit wholesale operations in Nursery Country.

Quality plant material is the hallmark of Oregon's Nursery Country. This tour will focus on taking plant material from the grower to the retail outlet and all the way to the customer. Creating consumer success starts with the grower so that plants will thrive once planted. Whether you are in plant production, purchasing or retail buying and merchandising you will gain valuable knowledge about how to source and sell your plant material. At the nurseries quality and innovation will be discussed in terms of giving plants the best start. You will visit wholesale growers whom also have retail outlets and find out how they market and set their plants to thrive - every step of the way. The day will wrap up at national plant brand, whose plants are often so successfully marketed that customers come in asking for them by name.

Tour 2 — Coniferific

Enjoy a "Coniferific" wholesale tour including a stop by The Oregon Garden to learn about the new expansion project to their renowned Conifer Garden.

Enjoy a conifer focused wholesale nursery tour. Conifers are hotter than ever in garden centers and landscapes. This tour will focus on growing the best conifers and show you innovative growing techniques as well as a sneak peak at excellent nurseries in The Willamette Valley to source superb conifer plant material from. You will stop for lunch at The Oregon Garden, originally started in collaboration with the Oregon Association of Nurseries in 2001. This year the Oregon Garden has embarked upon an expansion project to their renowned Conifer Garden. You will leave the day with new inspiration and ideas on way to source, utilize and market this "coniferific"" plant group.

Tour 3 — Secret Garden (Sold Out)

Discover the "Secret Garden" Centers in and near Portland, Oregon. Visit retail oasis's in the city and meet the stellar nurseries just beyond the city along the Columbia River.

If you are a garden designer, nursery manager, retail plant merchandiser this tour is for you. These locations offer unique style, aesthetic and exemplary plant knowledge. Spend the day in retail and plant nerd heaven. This tour offers a mix of urban lifestyle with trips to two onsite display gardens. You will leave feeling invigorated to implement what you have observed on this tour and make it your own at your store front.

Farwest had a lot of people coming through and buying. It feels good again. Buyers had been sitting back for a while, but this year, the market is improved. The selling season lasted longer, and people were preordering for 2015.
