Marketing timelines are essential for the successful introduction of new plants. But often, these timelines are not known by all those who assist in bringing plants to market. This panel of expert GWA/OAN-members will share tips and timelines for growers about a variety of plant introductions. The presentation will also help garden communicators understand the years/decades it takes to develop new plants and share the schedule information that those in the media need to know when preparing articles, blogs, or ad promotions. Determining demand, defining the audience, identifying media outlets’ requirements, and timing the launch are as important as producing quantities of unique, top-quality plants to match the market’s needs.
